Cases are made from high-impact ABS plastic which is extremely tough and resists
scratches, dents and corrosion. For modifications, ABS is machineable and can
be solvent welded. Standard colors include black, jet grey and yellow. Custom
colors
and materials are available with sufficient order quantities. The Main Seal
is made from a resilient blue silicone O-ring and can easily withstand submersion
in 1 meter meter of water as well as seal out dust and many corrosive gasses.
A pressure relief valve is provided on the cases to relieve pressure differentials
from changes in atmospheric pressure.
Stainless steel twist-lock latches and spring loaded steel handles are standard
on Transport Cases and optional on Dry Cases. They are designed to meet mil
specs. Molded ABS latches and padded handles are standard on Dry Cases and Dry
Boxes. They are designed for maximum corrosion protection and requirements nonmagnetic
cases. Hinge pins and screws are 300 series stainless steel
Full
width hinges with a stainless steel pin are used on all cases in order to maintain
the maximum seal if a case is dropped. The pin and lid can be removed on all
transit cases. User configured closed cell dice foam filling is available with
all cases. Sections of foam are easily removed to cradle delicate objects. Custom
cut foam is also available.
Panel mounting rings are available in Dry Boxes and Dry Cases. The ring is solvent
welded in place 0.5 inch below the rim of the case. Brass threaded inserts (8-32)
are embedded in the ring for rigid attachment of an instrument panel. A foamed
neoprene O-ring seals the panel to the ring.
A glass fiber reinforced extendable handle is a standard option for all transport
cases. Because the handle is attached to the outside of the case, the sealed
interior remains protected. The length of the handle is sufficient for tall
people to pull the case comfortably.
Large 3 inch wheels with stainless steel axles are used on Transport Cases for
easier rolling on gravel surfaces or rough pavement. Curbs are no challenge.

SPS
fibreFORM Manufacturing and Design Ltd. have finished another phase in the development
of instrument enclosures.
Presently by using a "vacuum bagging" method, SPS has been able
to manufacture wall panels with up to 2-3/4" insulation, 1', 2', 3' and
4' wide by 13 foot tall, assembling with 2" to 4" @ 1/8"or 1/4"
thick pultrusion posts. Pultrusion posts can now be insulated as an option to
provide overall R20+ ratings for our buildings. A 4,000 lbs load test performed
at SPS fibreFORM, has proved that our new panels are strong and rugged. SPS
fibreFORM's engineering has performed many calculations and tests on these panels
to ensure that the customer is getting the most indestructible building manufactured
from fiberglass.
